BabyROO Classes (Non-Mobile, Pre-Crawler & Crawling Babies)

15 min Funamental Movement Time

This is the section of our program where you get the work on cruicial developmental skills with your baby. Lots of tummy time activites, swinging, rolling etc... our staff are here to help!! We have a whole area filled with large equipment which has been especially designed for young children. Babies and children practice their coordination skills e.g. climbing, balancing, tumbling, jumping, swinging, hanging etc. Younger children use this as valuable exploration time. They will be experimenting with their bodies and learning about spatial awareness, body awareness and their own personal capabilities. Teachers are always nearby to offer guidance and teach new skills. The equipment is changed every week to introduce new challenges. We positively encourage and do not force our children. This must be FUN!

Mat Time

We begin each session with our ‘Hello Song’ with our little ones on their TUMMIES!!! We cross their legs over the bodies ‘midline’ to help strengthen their neurodevelopment. Over time Christine will discuss this with each class and many other topics cruicial to your babies development.  Next is baby massage, exercises, body awareness activities, strength and vestibular movements, ‘treasure bag’, and dance.

Music , Rhythm & Parachute Time

The session is concluded with music and parachute time. Each week we have a musical instrument to play with and our big colourful parachute or black and white one comes out for the children to lie under or play games with. Then everyone sings our “Goodbye Song’ and goes back home with the week's developmental handout.

Fundamental Movements

Each lesson begins with free explorative play on our large equipment. This is also a nice time to socialise with other parents /carers and children. This is a great time for jumping, crawling, climbing, hanging, swinging, rolling, running and smiling. Free play/fundamental movement is followed by mat time.

Mat Time

Mat time starts with bubbles and our ‘Hello Song’. Action rhymes, exercises, crocodile massages, essential skills (tick tocks), small equipment skills and sensory toy play, and a dance will follow. We have our special ‘Treasure Bag’ time which follows the theme for the term. This is loved by the children and is important for language, social interaction, tactile experiences, imagination, and reinforces the word for the week which is visualized to your child. This stimulates memory and pre-reading skills and strengthens the eye muscles. Being fully involved with the activities of your child is beneficial for all children and enhances love, security, joy and learning.
